The Purpose of Impact, our second campaign, is to generate funding to pay for the new facilities that we already enjoy. The monies will pay a portion of regular principal and interest on our loan that we are not able to cover from the General Fund and to make additional payments to reduce the principal. The current outstanding loan on our facility is approximately $3.1 million dollars. The goal is to help service that debt and reduce it as much as possible over the three year period. We also plan to give ten percent of the dollars received to special missions projects.

Impact is based on spiritual lifestyle changes and God-directed giving. While raising money is paramount, and even more important issue is that we take this opportunity to grow spiritually withing our church. This project has provided improved facilities for others in search of a church family and a place to draw closer to God. Several new ministries are being developed as a result of the new facilities. Our prayer is that other ministries will become available to our Church as our Lord provides them in the future.

With prayerful consideration, you and your family are asked to make a God-directed commitment on Sunday, March 9, for a period of 36 months. These gifts are over and above giving to the regular ministry and mission budget (General Fund) of the church.

Make prayer your number one prionty. Pray individually and collectively that God would find us faithful to His call on our lives. Pray that God will use West Hills Community Church to expand His ministry. Pray for Impact, so that everything we do in it will be consistent with God's will for our lives, our church, our community and our world.

When asked to participate, step forward and take part. When making an estimate of giving, have faith that God will direct and provide. This campaign has the potential to positively impact the ministry of Christ through our church for many years to come. As an Impact participant, you will have the opportunity to encourage many of your fellow members and regular attenders to support and become more involved in the life of our church.

In Malachi 3:10, God challenges us to try and out-give Him. He has promised that He will "open the windows of heaven and pour out a blessing that there shall not be room enough to receive it." May we as members of West Hills claim this promise as we look forward to seeing how God will impact the world through us.

It is regular giving and then some, under the leadership of the Holy Spirit. It requires a reassessment of our spending and lifestyle. We may need to readjust our priorities. God-directed giving requires a measure of stewardship above and beyond regular giving. God-directed giving costs the giver something. David demonstrated his understanding of sacrifice in 2 Samuel 24:24 when he wrote, "I will not offer as a sacrifice to the Lord my God that which costs me nothing."

Pray about what you might give up so that something greater in the Kingdom of God can be accomplished. Impact will help West Hills Community Church provide ministries which will allow us to be the church God has called us to be.

West Hills Community Church has been and will continue to be supported through faithful giving of our church family. Through sacrificial giving, we believe we can reach our goals of servicing and reducing our debt. But there is more to it than meeting financial goals. In fact, achieving our financial goals is really the byproduct of reaching our spiritual goals. Sacrificial giving means a level of stewardship above and beyond our regular commitment to God of tithes and offerings for our current ministries and missions. It will require reassessing our spending and readjusting our priorities to meet God's call on our lives. Through faith, God will enable us to carry out the commitment He has laid on each of our hearts.

While raising money is important, an even more important issue is that we take this opportunity to grow spiritually within our church. Impact is more about faithraising than fundraising. This is a chance for all of our church members to learn more about the importance of "stewardship" as a lifestyle. Stewardship impacts not just our financial decisions, but also how each of us can take up the call to serve God. What could be more appropriate than asking God, through prayer, to guide us on how He wants us to ba a part of this process?

Our first priority is to set aside approximately $600,000 to cove the portion of our mortgage payments for the next three years that is not included in the General Fund. Once that is funded, the remaining dollars raised will be applied directly to the principal of the loan, reducing our debt.

Ten percent of every dollar raised will be given to impact the ministries of L'Arcada Christian Youth Camp in Spain and Wayne and Jessica Jones in Thailand in very tangible ways.

We believe it is the will of God that we support missions beyond those of our local church with this campaign. We pray that God will use the campaign to tremendously impact the missions we feel led to support.
